Bursary Application – Audit CA Stream (Johhanesburg)

Job Description:

BDO offers financial assistance to well-rounded, academically strong candidates studying or considering studying towards a CA(SA) qualification. 

Bursary Criteria:

Bursary applicants should meet the following criteria:

A bursary applicant must be South African 

NOT be signed with any other professional services firm to complete a training contract 

Must have proven financial need

NOT be in possession of a bursary / scholarship / financial assistance award which has employment obligations or post training contract employment obligations 

Be considering to study towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification (learners/scholars)

Commitment to study towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification with majors in accounting and auditing;

Be studying at a university which offers South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (SAICA) accredited programmes through to Honours / CTA level 

The amount will be paid directly to the University and is based on the terms and conditions outlined in the bursary contract

To be considered for a Full Bursary, you will need to meet the following selection criteria: 

Matriculant/Grade 12:

Minimum “B” in Maths higher grade and minimum “B” in English higher grade either 1st or 2nd language; and an overall average of 70% or higher in the final grade 12 or equivalent results 

University students:

70% or more in Accounts I 

70% or more in Accounts II 

65% or more in Accounts III

Parents’/Guardians’ ID 

Parents’/Guardians’ salary advice or Affidavit if unemployed 

Final Grade 11 Results 

Final Grade 12 Results, if already completed Grade 12 

University provisional acceptance letter (to be sent as soon as received) 

Full academic transcript if already at University 

Proof of registration, if already at University 

Copies of ID documents of other persons dependent on family income 

A stamped letter from your school confirming registration as well as your subjects 

Preference is given to ACI students
